Chicago

I've gotten tired of posting about the road trip we took 2 weeks ago (I should've just put all of the states in one post) but I hate leaving things unfinished and our last stop was NOT Indiana so let me carry on. After Indiana and a few bathroom breaks/rest stops along the way, we reached out penultimate stop - Chicago. At last! I've got to be 100% honest with you guys, Downtown Chicago is much more beautiful than Times Square will ever be. I don't know why NYC is more famous than  Chicago, people romanticize it too much. Of course, I still love New York more but I have to admit that Chicago is more aesthetically appealing. Here are some photos from the Botanic Garden (the most beautiful I've ever been to and that's saying something because NYC has like one in every borough - all of which I've visited) and Buckingham Fountain.

  1. You know what? Everyone I know who's been to Chicago says the same thing. It's the more aesthetically appealing and friendlier version of NYC. I guess it's the same with Paris--it's overrated and highly romanticised. NYC and Paris are the same perhaps in that aspect--they've been used too much as film backdrops.
    Thanks for the tour!

    1. I love reading your comments because they're always insightful and I completely agree with the Paris view. Friends who have gone there say that it's actually not as aesthetically appealing as people make it out to be (apparently the outskirts of Paris are much nicer). :)

  2. I haven't been neither in Chicago nor in NYC. But one of my greatest wish is a roadtrip from West to East coast (of US) :) And I sure won't forget about Chicago ;)
